St. Paraskevi festival
One of the greatest festivals in Amorgos Island is Saint Parskevi festival. Every year at 25th-26th of July people celebrate.
People collect flour, olive oil, and all the materials they need in order to make breads and traditional dishes such as “patatato” “xidato” “koftos” “rofidada” and rice. More than 500 double loaves of bread are baking and everyone who offer materials take bread as a gift.
Saint Paraskevi is very important for everyone in Amorgos Island even if he lives in the Island or not.
